An Open Letter to our Volunteers, Supporters and Patients / Una Carta Abierta a Nuestros Voluntarios, Seguidores y Pacientes

Dear PACH Family,

We are now more than a week out from the election and we have received many questions about how the results will impact the future of PACH. While the ways in which our healthcare and immigration systems will change are unclear, we can affirm that our dedication to our community remains unwavering.

We know that many of us and our patients– particularly those of us who are undocumented, non-white, of Muslim faith, or of the LGBTQ community– are already being affected. If you have close friends or family members who are a part of a targeted group, they may be feeling vulnerable, uncertain, and afraid of the future to come.

We want to reaffirm that PACH is committed to being a place of love, caring, and safety. As always, we will continue to stand by the values of social justice and liberation through our dedication to providing quality healthcare. We are committed to remaining a community where people are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, religion, or sexuality.

We at PACH call upon each and every one of you to look out and stand up for each other, ask for help if you need it, and be the positive change you wish to see in the world. If we do not courageously speak out against this expansion of racism, sexism, rape-culture, Islamophobia, and anti-LGBTQ sentiment, then it will gradually become accepted as the “new normal.” We cannot permit this to happen. Please, we ask each and every one of you to be unapologetically fearless in defending what we at PACH stand for; whether it be at work, school, or wherever you may encounter oppression.

Should you need any help, affirmation or support, you can be certain that your family at PACH will remain by your side as we continue to stand with our community and all of those who are alienated, marginalized, and persecuted.

Thank you for being a part of the PACH Family.
