Phoenix Allies
for Community
Health
Because healthcare is a human right.
Phoenix Allies for Community Health
(PACH) is a grassroots organization born
out of a movement dedicated to improving
health outcomes in marginalized, low-
income communities who have minimal
access to primary care. We are also a
501(C)3 nonprofit.
Mission
The Mission of PACH is to provide
volunteer-led patient centered health
services to medically marginalized people
with respect and cultural humility.
Vision
We recognize the rights of all people to
have accessible and equitable health
services through an integrative,
sustainable model. By challenging the
dominant culture of healthcare, we seek
to promote cultural humility and inspire
health justice advocacy.
PACH History
We began as a street medic collective,
formed to provide emergency care during
the many protests that sprang out of
Arizona’s anti-immigrant laws and migrant
workplace raids.
PACH initially started by hosting
health fairs, which eventually led
to the opening of a brick-and-
mortar free clinic.
Our first location was a small
house in downtown Phoenix,
where the PACH Primary Care
Clinic officially opened in April
2013.
In January 2016, we relocated
to our current facility at 2902
W. Clarendon Ave, Phoenix.

EDUCATION
cOMMUNity BUILDING
Through our comprehensive services, PACH provides a
medical home to medically marginalized individuals across
the Valley.
At Phoenix Allies for Community Health, our primary program is our volunteer-run, free primary care
clinic. In 2023, our 12th year of service to the community we served 170 patients through 307 medical
visits, 224 lab visits, and distributed over 15,000 pounds of free food to patients and the community
through our food pantry. We are dedicated to providing care to uninsured, underserved, and
undocumented populations, relying solely on community donations and grants to continue our mission.

Physicians and Licensed Providers
PACH is always looking for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, registered
dieticians, diabetes educators, physical therapists, therapists, social workers and more! Volunteers can have a
background in primary care, specialty care, psychiatry or mental health. Healthcare providers are able to volunteer
based on their availability, whether it be once a week or once a month!
Clinic Volunteers
As a 99% volunteer-run organization, PACH relies on volunteers to carry out our mission.
PACH offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for community members who want to donate their time. We
are looking for Spanish interpreters, intake volunteers, phlebotomists and case management volunteers. For
these roles, we ask volunteers to commit to 3 shifts a month for at least 1 year.
Wellness Workshop Instructors
Part of PACH’s holistic services include monthly wellness workshops. Topics range from managing mental health to
managing cholesterol/diabetes to fitness classes. We are looking for experts in their field to lead workshops on a
variety of topics. Instructors can a host a one-time workshop or set up a regular schedule based on their availability.
This opportunity might be right for you if you are, for example, a registered dietician who can’t commit to a regular
schedule but still wants to make an impact!
Interns
PACH hosts masters of social work student internships and undergraduate internships for pre-health
students, finance students and more!
If any of these opportunities speak to you, submit a volunteer application!

“I am an aspiring medical
professional dedicated to serving
my community. I’m passionate about
improving access to healthcare,
supporting culturally competent
health education
and building strong connections
while providing support to
marginalized populations.
Volunteering at PACH has
strengthened my fire and drive to
pursue my purpose. The work I do
here has taught me that my
existence is not just to take up
space but to give back and create
meaningful change.”
“For me, volunteering at PACH
is a meaningful way to give back
to my community, especially as
they face significant barriers to
healthcare access. It’s also an
opportunity to honor my heritage
by supporting individuals who
share similar language and
cultural traditions. PACH has
had a profound impact on me
over the past couple of years.”
“I grew up in a low-income Hispanic
community, so working with patients
with language barriers is a reminder
of why I joined healthcare. I
remember going to doctor visits and
my mom would not be able to
communicate with healthcare
workers because of the language
barrier. My internship at PACH gives
me the opportunity to work with
uninsured individuals who are
challenged by language barriers.
Supporting PACH helps ensure that
medically marginalized communities
receive essential medical care they
might otherwise go without. ”
“Our patients deserve the best we
can provide and their gratitude is
always amazing. The rapport
established with our patients brings
joy as a healthcare provider whether
it be listening to a patient going
through a difficult time or providing a
much-needed medication. The
volunteers and board members of
PACH strive to provide to each
patient what is necessary at every
visit. I am proud to volunteer for
PACH as its basic tenet that
healthcare is a human right strikes a
resounding chord within me.”
